Which Game Of Thrones Character Would Make The Best Travel Consultant?

Portrait of 3 Game of Thrones characters

This week at TMS in between finding you guys new jobs we have been fiercely debating a very big issue: which Game of Thrones character would make the best Travel Consultant? As mostly former Travel Consultants ourselves everyone has an opinion. And like ritual combat to decide Tyrion’s fate we have assembled our champions:

Arya Stark

Arya has some stiff competition within the Game of Thrones universe just to stay alive. With her outstanding travel experience and will to win she would thrive in the travel industry.

She’s extremely well-travelled

From luxury to basic, group travel, solo or with a friend, Arya has done it all. She’s travelled in comfort on the way to King’s Landing, very basic economy along Kingsroad while posing as  Night’s Watch recruit, backpacked into the Riverlands and trekked and rode horseback across Meadowlands with the Hound.

She’s resilient

No customer will be too difficult, no negotiation too large, no reissue too complicated. Arya has fought for her life on many occasions and would laugh in the face of a price she couldn’t beat.

She can adapt to suit any customer

All that training with the many faced man wasn’t for nothing: Arya can be anyone she needs to be. There is no customer who wouldn’t see exactly what they wanted to see when dealing with Arya.

Daenerys Targaryen

Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons. Arya may be good but she’s not ‘invulnerable to fire, riding on dragons’ good.

She’s an absolute expert on luxury, high end accommodation

Starting from her humble palace in Essos across the Narrow Sea there’s virtually nowhere Khaleesi hasn’t travelled and in style to boot! If you really want the inside tip on the best luxury hotels in the seven kingdoms you cannot look past the Mother of Dragons.

She’s persuasive

When it comes to sales ability not even the Wolf of Wall St could top Daenerys. She closes everybody! She leads the Dothraki, frees the Unsullied and even manages to get Jon Snow – the King in the North – to bend the knee.

She’s ambitious

Daenerys has a strong vision and lets nothing stand in her way. She is going to get to the top no matter what.

Tyrion Lannister

A rascal, a scoundrel and a boozehound, Tyrion parties like a Travel Consultant at a Flight Centre buzz night, it’s almost like someone put a Travel Consultant in Game of Thrones.

He knows all the places to have a good time

Not only is Tyrion extremely well-travelled but his intimate knowledge of those hidden gems in just about every town in the Seven Kingdoms makes his personal recommendations unbeatable. Daenerys can tell you where to stay but can she tell you who to tip when you get there? Tyrion can.

He is extremely perceptive and a great listener

Tyrion is famous for asking everyone what they want and genuinely listening to their answers – the hallmark of a good agent. You know that you are going to get a truly personalised holiday that suits you if booking with Tyrion.

He’s passionate

Nobody loves having fun as much as Tyrion. That sort of attitude is infectious. He’d make a great environment for his team and would be beloved by customers and colleagues alike.
