25 Years – A time to reflect and say thank you!

TMS Talent is delighted to be celebrating our 25th year in business during 2019. A significant milestone and achievement we are exceptionally proud of.

As TMS’s Group Managing Director I am thrilled to be leading such a progressive organisation onto the next stage of its journey. As we continue to grow and expand our global foot print, it’s important that we take the time to reflect back on our history and thank our absolutely fantastic team, awesome clients and loyal candidates who have contributed to our success along the way.

The evolution of TMS Talent

Over the past 25 years our business has transformed enormously. Established in 1994 under the leadership of Gary Marshall and Phil Hoffman, TMS Talent started out as Travel Management Services. The business renamed as TMS Asia Pacific in 2004, as it expanded from its initial office in Sydney to 8 offices across APAC, with a strong presence in Asia.

During the global financial crisis, TMS made considered decisions to scale back its operations and in 2012 a change of ownership occurred with Steve Hamblin acquiring the company with bold plans to reinvigorate it.

In 2014, Steve appointed myself as MD and the business rebranded as TMS Talent. It was a small close knit team all based in Sydney. We had a strong vision of who we wanted to be and a clear plan of how to get there. For us the emphasis was on delivering an exceptional quality experience to our clients and candidates and it was that which would set us apart in the market. And it did.

Our growth trajectory

We began to grow! Our Brisbane office opened in September 2016 and by 2017 we were poised for a year of exponential growth. 2017 saw the opening of our Melbourne and Bangkok offices, as well as the acquisition of the New Frontiers business in London.

2018 saw further growth and expansion, as the opportunity arose to make two strategic acquisitions in the ANZ Market. Acquiring a well-respected competitor in the Sydney market InPlace Recruitment and across the Tasman acquiring Auckland based Top Dog Recruitment expanding our regional footprint.

Today, we have truly evolved into a global business that I’m immensely proud of.

How are we celebrating turning 25?

As TMS Talent continues to grow, we have some exciting things planned for this year, so watch this space! The festivities will kick off with our entire global team meeting each other face to face for the first time, as we head to Bangkok for our global conference. There we will connect our teams, workshop and share our respective local market knowledge as well as celebrate the team’s successes.

I have a firm belief that a business will only continue to thrive by taking care of its people, who in turn deliver the best service to our clients and candidates. So as we commence our 25th year, the conference is a wonderful way to say thank you to our fantastic team.

Most importantly we want to spend the year expressing our continued thanks and gratitude to our loyal clients and candidates that support us each and every day. From me personally and the entire TMS Talent team, thank you!
