Inbound Travel Jobs Bondi beach

The allure of a career in travel is about combining your life’s passion with your career. Intrepid travelers with a desire to explore new sights, tastes and experiences relish the opportunity to share their knowledge with others in a range of careers where their real-world experiences count.

In today’s blog we focus on a travel career path specific to showcasing the country you reside in, attracting international travelers to your backyard.

What is Inbound Travel?

Inbound Travel Operators are often referred to as ITO’s or Destination Management Companies (DMC’s). These companies hire domestic specialist travel consultants with a strong knowledge of their home country’s major tourist areas and off the beaten track destinations. You would be creating itineraries for groups or fully independent travelers (known as FIT’s) coming in from overseas destinations.

Why is Inbound Travel an exciting career path?

What could be more exciting than promoting your own country and uncovering more of the hidden gems that lie at your doorstep! You will become an expert on all land content for varying budgets, arranging accommodation, activities, day tours, restaurants and more.

For those with a second language, inbound travel careers offer the ability to utilise your language skills as you correspond with travel agencies in these countries planning itineraries for their clients.

Whether you are custom designing itineraries for an international group, a series tour or an independent traveler, Inbound offers roles within reservations, product development, sales and business development from adventure to luxury and everything in between! Some of these positions come with fantastic travel perks, like flying abroad to promote your destination at trade fairs or experiencing many of the products you promote on action packed famils/ educationals. For those lucky enough to secure a role in product, you could be jetting across the country sourcing new and exciting resorts, experiences or day tours to add to your company’s repertoire.
