To Sua Ocean Trench - This much photographed tropical oasis is this week’s bucket list destination chosen by Priyanka Kumari, from our Melbourne team, as part of our continuing 25-year anniversary celebrations.
To Sua Ocean Trench is located near the Lotofaga village on the south coast of Upolu Island in Samoa. This stunning 30-meter symmetrical hole is one of two, fed through a natural lava tunnel that leads to the ocean. Both are surrounded by lush tropical landscape overlooking the southeast coast of the island.
Priyanka recalls “It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Jumping from the precariously narrow, extremely high and slippery ladder into the clear, emerald green waters was both exhilarating and daunting at the same time. Being surrounded by colourful fish darting all around me was simply magical.”
The ocean trench descends deep to the sea floor complete with a sandy bottom. Adding to the allure of this magnificent waterhole, Priyanka informs us that she was “very surprised it was not over- crowded and that I got to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this natural wonder”. So don’t delay, grab your swimmers and head over to Samoa for your next holiday!
