Spruce up that CV focusing on what makes you and your career journey truly unique. Use examples of projects you have worked on, brands you’ve worked with and leadership experience. Get specific and make it interesting.
- Make a good first impression – First impressions matter! Whether you’re on the phone, in person, on zoom or via email. Keep it professional but be personable. Try and build a rapport with your recruiter or interviewer and be memorable (in a good way!). A deeper connection, whether that be a shared experience, mutual connections or being able to relate to having similar life interests will help keep you front of mind.
- Have genuine enthusiasm for the role – If it’s meant to be the job for you, you must have genuine enthusiasm for the role your applying for and let it shine through in the application and interview process. A positive attitude and asking insightful questions during the recruitment process shows you are highly motivated and engaged. This translates to an interviewer as you have high likelihood of giving your all to your potential new job.
- Reach out & utilise your networks – Be proactive! Start networking and talking to people about the roles you’re searching for. Keep in regular contact with your recruiter and make sure you follow up leads and to say thank you after an interview.
