Tell Us About Your Background
My early years were spent within the hospitality industry in multiple Food and Beverage roles across a number of businesses. This then lead me to the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne where I worked in multiple roles such as Bell Desk, Front Desk and Concierge. A short stint at telecommunication giant Optus gave me my first taste of sales selling Mobile, Broadband and Pay TV plans. A travel enthusiast at heart, it was Flight Centre that caught my eye where I spent 12 years. I started as a Travel Consultant building a very loyal repeat and referral business. I was Team Leader across multiple businesses successfully improving them and making them profitable. Success in Victoria lead me to Singapore where I become their first Operation Leader growing the brand from the ground up with exceptional year on year growth and the development of their people. After returning home to Melbourne it was time for a change which lead me to STA Travel as their Senior Regional Sales Manager for Victoria. This gave me great insight into the student and youth market and lead the business through 2 major restructures.
People and Culture is my passion. I believe that investing in ‘people’ is one of the most important investments a business can make. A strong and loyal culture is the ‘return’ on that investment. I would like to think that I’m the conduit between our candidates and our clients. I get great pleasure in watching the people I place, personally and professionally grow and develop within an industry I love.
What Is Your Favourite Destination & Why?
There are too many to mention. However, my most recent and favourite destination would have to be Boracay in the Philippines. I got to experience one of the most pristine beaches in the world, enjoying its Spanish influenced cuisine and understanding the true meaning of ‘island life’. The best part was experiencing all of this and quality time with good friends and my beautiful family.
Tell Us Something We Don’t Know About You
I once lost a bet while working at Flight Centre in Singapore and walked the entire 2.2km stretch of Orchard Road in drag. Luckily for me I couldn’t find size 12 heels and was allowed to walk the distance in my thongs. Fair to say it was not a pretty sight for those poor locals and tourists.
